Following Klavier intégral (2006, commissioned by INA/GRM), Sébastien Roux (12k, Optical Sound, ROOM40, ...) and Vincent Epplay (artist/musician, he has released albums on Tiramizu, Stembogen, and exhibited his art installations at Palais de Tokyo and Beaubourg in Paris) are back and have come up with punk musique concrète!

Plunderphonics of John Oswald, Negativland or The Tape Beatles, and German experimental music from the 80s/90s (HNAS, Rowenta/Khan, P16D4) have without a doubt influenced Concatenative Mu, but Roux & Epplay bring them further on, adding some virtuosity that makes it exhilarating.

This is a demanding, disturbing, rich, yet funny and fully inventive work of art.

Après un premier Klavier intégral (2006, commande de l'INA/GRM), Sébastien Roux (édité par 12k, Optical Sound, ROOM40…) et Vincent Epplay (artiste/musicien ayant été édité chez Tiramizu, Stembogen, et ayant exposé au Palais de Tokyo, à Beaubourg…) reviennent et inventent la musique concrète punk !

Si leurs références peuvent clairement se chercher du côté du plunderphonic de John Oswald , Negativland ou The Tape Beatles, ainsi que de la musique expérimentale allemande des années 80/90 (HNAS, Rowenta/Khan, P16D4), ils y ajoutent une virtuosité de composition toute personnelle qui fait de Concatenative Mu l’un des disques les plus jubilatoires entendus depuis longtemps.

Une musique concrète à la fois exigeante, dérangeante, riche, drôle, et toujours complètement inventive.
